A shed roof is a single slope, so both rafter ends get the same plumb and seat cuts. Enter the depth, pitch and front wall height to get the rear wall height and rafter length.

What is the minimum pitch for a shed roof?

For asphalt shingles, 2:12 with a double underlayment, or 3:12 to be safe. For corrugated metal panels, 3:12. Below that, use a membrane or a standing seam panel.

What pitch should a garden shed have?

Three in twelve to 4:12 is the usual compromise. It sheds water well, keeps the rear wall from getting awkwardly tall, and works with ordinary shingles.
