How much fall does a gutter need?
A quarter inch per ten feet is the normal standard. An eighth of an inch is the practical minimum and half an inch suits very heavy rainfall, though too much fall becomes visible against the fascia line.
What if my gutter run is very long?
Beyond about forty feet, set the high point in the middle and fall both ways to a downspout at each end. That halves the drop and keeps the gutter looking level.
